Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Rock water bars on Twinway going up to South Twin from the hut could use some touch up. Cairns above treeline on Twinway have white stones on top but people have been adding small stones and covering the white up. Tried to fix this. West bond Spur is quite eroded in spots but I don’t know what can be done to combat it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Would be a nice hike for pups, if not a little challenging with the elevation gains. Note that there is really no water after Galehead Hut until you get to the Guyot Campsite spring.
Bugs: Nothing to note.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found:
Comments: Short trip up from 13 Falls(Friday night) to Galehead. Hung out at the hut to see if clouds/fog lifted but no luck. Steep climb up to South Twin and a quick jaunt to Guyot. Headed to Guyot campsite and made camp before hitting up West Bond. Crowded but not full at Guyot ; I think the weather forecast kept folks at bay. Good luck all you through hikers especially Sidney Lou Hoo, 10-4, and loner.
