Comments: The trailhead is reached by leaving NH 110 and crossing the covered bridge into Stark village, then turning left and traveling about 0.8 mile on Northside Road. The trailhead is on the right with parking for about 5 – 6 cars. There is no signage at the trailhead.

The trail begins on a logging road. And, since the last time I hiked the Devil’s Slide Trail, there has been some recent logging activity that has impacted the trail. Some things to be aware of are as follows. About 0.2 mile into the hike, there is an abrupt LEFT turn off the logging road onto the yellow-blazed trail. In another few tenths of a mile, the blazed trail is interrupted by a wide swath of logged area. Once again you’ll be making an abrupt LEFT turn, but this time it might take some “trial and error” to find the blazed trail. However, once the trail is located, there are no further “gotchas”. :-)

Other than the disruptions caused by the logging operations, the trail was generally in good shape. There were a few downed trees here and there, but they were easy to step over/duck under/walk around.
