Comments
Comments: parked at 640am and the lot was near full (lots of people stayed at valley way tentsite). On the trail at 645 and within a few hundred yards I passed a momma moose and her baby. First siting in a few years so that was a good start. Trail was in good condition other than some minor mud but once above treeline the weather was terrible. 40 degrees with sustained winds of 60mph, completely socked in once above treeline. Wet slippery rocks the whole way up and down which made for slow difficult travel. Once at the summit sign another guy and I had to hold onto the sign post in order to not be blown away it was so bad. Lots of people out, some idiots too wearing shorts/sweatpants/no backpack but that's okay, they'll learn. Overall I'm glad I did it, I had made 3 attempts in the winter so finally I got to the summit. Happy trails!
