Comments
Comments: Started our hike by following the Jeep road which ascends then descends to the power line cut. Shortly after passing under the power line, we started to head directly toward the peak. Mostly clean woods intersected by a number of old snowmobile or logging roads which were very overgrown with mostly pricker bushes (blackberries, raspberries and other stuff). The way was a little bit of up and down and slabbing. When we were almost there, we saw the cliff face above us where the jar was supposed to be! Decided to follow the cliff band northwards hoping for a spot where we could access the ridge. Went about .25 miles and discovered a steep dirt section that we knew we could get up so took it up to the ridge. Turned to the south and after about .25 miles of fairly gradual climbing, we came to a small clearing and the jar! Signed in, ate lunch, took some pics then headed back to find that same steep path. A lot trickier going down but we managed. Set a heading straight for the Jeep road. Tough woods this way: lots of small boulders and piles of wet leaves which sometimes covered holes. Finally rejoined the path we had taken on the way up and headed back to the Jeep road. Popped out of the woods almost exactly where we had entered! Took the Jeep road back to our car. Almost 6 miles round trip. Challenging but some great views from the ridgeline.
