Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Everything is rock hoppable at the moment. Refer to "trail maintenance notes" for my thoughts on two of the crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall, a trail that is easy to follow. This is fortunate, as it is poorly marked (how I wish I had a can of paint!) The second river crossing on ascent poses an issue- do not follow the blue surveyors tape!! The final crossing on descent is an issue if you are tired and running on empty (yes, I was) While the trail turns left, it is glaringly obvious that MANY have turned right- this really makes a person question their sanity for a moment. Just one blaze would help (I plan to spend my retired years volunteering as a trail maintenance person!)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I feel like this is a great trail for dogs, although some might not be able to handle the 11-ish miles. Pretty straightforward route though . Plenty mud to dip the paws in in between peaks today.
Bugs
Bugs: None today. Cool, windy (socked in) weather had them hiding.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Pirate bandana, left at trailhead.

Comments
Comments: Other than the occasional "is this the trail" moment, this is a good one. Basically a long, reasonable ascent (almost bone flat for a couple miles, then gradual uphill with a steep but non technical final mile.)
No views today, as the whole mountain was ensconced in a massive, impenetrable cloud. One would think that there would be some great sights to see up there on a good day.
Plenty of friendly people out and about today (well, low hiker traffic but the level of friendliness was high!)
