Two families with 7 kids hiked to Pierce today under cloudy skies. Rumbles of thunder early on did not bode well for our hike but we carried on. It began raining and we pushed on. On the summit it was hailing with stinging ice pellets. Everything was soaked in the windy conditions I feared hypothermia for our youngest. Thank goodness for space blanket. It was #2 of our 48 quest. |
