Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water levels are low; crossing the brook is almost completely trivial.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were, for the most part, in good shape. The first quarter mile or so of the bushwhack was a bit tough to follow, but it cleaned up quickly after that.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of perky, playful pups!
Bugs
Bugs: Mosquitoes are homicidal, even in the afternoon. If I kept moving, they were mostly stymied, but stopping invited total carnage.

Comments
Comments: Trails are in fine shape. The first bit of the bushwhack was navigated using Gaia, and that got me through, although not without a little wandering. The rest of the bushwhack was on par with most AMC maintained trails, actually, which was pretty nice. Not saying a little clean up on that first bit wouldn't help things, but anyone can make do with a little persnicketiness. When all else fails, follow your nose and just noodle around a little. You'll find it.

Keep an eye out for the Indian Pipes that seem to line the trail on the bushwhack and the Lincoln Brook trail. They're a real treat to see.
