 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Sandwich Notch Road to trailhead is always a bumpy road but it looks like the road has been recently maintained. There is parking at most for three vehicles. There was a truck when we arrived and we took another spot. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water very low. Used rocks over brook to cross. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots! The first mile in over the old road has at least a dozen blowdowns of various sizes [some needing chainsaws] to be removed. The trail has a number of sections [about a dozen] that are overgrown and need cutting back. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
I would think it would challenging for dogs on the scrambles but I read some dogs did it so I guess the more experienced ones can do this! |

 | Bugs: |
None. |

A great way to reach Sandwich Dome! Easy first mile to stretch the legs on the old road, the climb to Black Mountain Pass, the steep scrambles on the ledges, fantastic views in all directions on the ridge, gentle ridge traverse and the reaching the summit! Overall a great day out in the woods with awesome views. Ran into a couple guys descending when we were getting near the summit, spoke to about 6 people on the summit, and on the return, met 4 shirtless young dudes who were camping down Black Pond for the weekend and decided to tag the summit. |
