 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked at the AMC Highland Center. For the Saco Lake Trail, you can park along the east side of the road (north trailhead - just above the lake)) or in a small dirt pulloff/parking area right next to the lake (south trailhead). A couple spots available at the Highland Center around 7pm An day plenty of room at the trailheads for Saco Lake Trail. |

 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No problems |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
All trails are easy to follow. There’s a brief but severely washed out section of Around the Lake Trail that was recently closed but is now reopened for hiking :) Yay! No blowdowns or other issues I can recall. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn’t see any but they’d likely be fine. Just the one washed out section of Around the Lake Trail and the one rocky dry stream crossing on Saco Lake Trail. I wouldn’t take most dogs up to the AMC Idlewild View as that is very steep, eroded, and cliffy. |
|
 | Bugs: |
I don’t recall them bothering me. |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Found one flip flop at the jct of Around the Lake Trail and Red Bench Trail. Took it out with me. |

 | Comments: |
I had a little extra time before sunset after doing Hale and South Hale so I decided to redline these trails. The main purpose of this report is to let people know that Around the Lake Trail is once again open :)
The “view†from Red Bench is just about entirely gone due to tree growth unfortunately. Perhaps it’s best done in winter! |
