Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Trail crosses the brook twice but both crossing are easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall this trail is not well marked and could use some serious maintenance/TLC. Difficult to locate start of trail as there are numerous paths to take. Two newer looking red blazes when you're near the river but the blazes become less numerous and are faded. Four or five blowdowns but easily navigated over/around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One pooch on the trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Swarms of mosquitoes, black flies, deer flies, and horse flies. Wore my head net almost the entire way.

Comments
Comments: Frustrating to start as the trail is not well marked. Once you find the first set of red blazes, follow the river. We were hoping to hit the other peaks before Shaws but doubted the trail conditons would be favorable/that the trail would be easy to follow. Decent little hike but needs some TLC.
