|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Despite the lack of rain recently, the Sawyer River still needs fording, but this is very easy |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
So many blowdowns, especially on the Brunel Trail after it leaves the logging road. Also a big on before you get on the logging road. Also, blazes need redoing, especially in the col between Owl's Cliff and the summit. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Minimal water on the trail, so bring some for the pups |
|
| Bugs: |
Deerflies and mosquitoes abound, however not as bad near the summit |

| Comments: |
This trail, as it is mentioned in the book is less used and people thinking of doing it should use caution. I did get turned around a couple of times, the worst was the col between Owl's Cliff and the summit. The trail disappeared and the blazes are practically nonexistent, whether from lack of renewing the or blowdowns. The view is amazing, but if you are a novice, do NOT use this way. Go from 302 (which I understand is easier to follow) |
