Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: About a dozen vehicles at Randolph East upon our return at 10:45A. Free parking. Plenty of space.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings were running decent due to the rains of the previous day/night, but nothing crazy. The crossing of Snyder Brook took care because of how slick and mossy things were. Even the "dry" exposed rocks were slippery.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A little overgrowth on Sylvan but more because it's lightly traveled it seemed. RMC is doing a great job on Amphibranch and Spur trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Would be an awesome jaunt for a doggo. Plenty of water too.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes. Many. With the heat and humidity they were quite annoying, especially when you stopped. We wore deet but it didn't keep them 100% off.

Comments
Comments: Given the day before's rain, trails were quite damp and slick in many spots. Water crossings weren't much of an issue at all though. All these trails are in great shapes. On Sylvan Way there are several syrupping lines set up, many low enough to walk in to so be aware. There was at least two below 6 feet and another couple just a bit higher so if you're tall or have a high pack look out. Only one that was a step over that I know of. This was the second day of a 2 day trek with my 9Y.O. after we stayed at Crag Camp overnight. Just a great weekend in the mountains.
