Comments
Comments: This was hiking Mt Jefferson the hard way! We saw no one else in the morning until we reached the top of Castle Ravine Trail, and we met maybe a dozen people on the way down Castle Trail. Gulfside and the top of Jefferson were a very different story, buzzing with people.

Expected the stream crossings on Castle Ravine to be lower and easily rock-hoppable in mid-summer so we didn't bring poles. Poles would have helped. The water wasn't deep, but the rocks were sometimes far apart, mossy, slippery, required a lot of care to get across without falling in.

Fantastic loop, fantastic weather, what a wonderful day.
