| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Jefferson Notch road parking was on serious overload. We lucked out when a kind soul re-adjusted his truck's parking in an overflow area, acros from the main trailhead parking, and allowed us park off road. Thank you again. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One blowdown just East of the first outlook. One of my companions, following me, heard me say something about a blowdown that I just ducked, when he nearly planted his forehead into the same blowdown. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw maybe 3 dogs. Most were doing rather well on the steep terrain. |

| Bugs: |
Only when we stopped. Did someone forget to properly feed these pests? |

Mt Jefferson looked like an ant hill. Many peakbaggers were out.
We had the good fortune of finishing before the hail, downpours and t-storms arrived. We were tailgating next to our vehicle when the fun began.
Great day overall. Sun, blue skies, then the heavy clouds started to gather over Washington and Jefferson probably prompted me to abbreviate our summit visit. We packed up right after lunch and left. Didn't really think it was going to rain before evening, but the barometric pressure was trending down...
..still felt genuinely fortunate to get this hike in. We had scheduled twice before, but had to cancel because on June 2nd Jefferson Notch road was still closed by NHDOT, and again June 29th when the weather was dismal. No regrets! Awesome hike. Probably 4th time for me. First time for my 2 companions. They were astonished by the steep caps and lovely views. I never grow weary of this trail's charms. |
