Comments
Comments: we got a bit of a late start and had another group ahead of us who broke the trail out nicely until we caught up to them and took our turn out front just before davis path. a few inches of new powder down low increasing to 6+ once higher up and through the engine hill bushwack. depth continued to increase and by the time we hit the ridge we were breaking through about a foot with deeper drifts (including one real impressive one just below the summit). the engine hill route was laid out as nicely as i've ever seen it. kudos to those guys. shortly before davis path the track splits with one route heading right up through a gully to the trail and the other heading up over a bump to intersect the trail farther along. the branch to the right goes through much nicer territory though either will get you to davis path. either route bypasses the campsite bump on isolation trail. with all the wind today some of our tracks, particularly through the glades, were fully blown back in by the time we were heading back so by tomorrow some of the track may be completely wiped out despite seeing pretty good use today.

wore snowshoes all day. extension tails msrs were helpful.
great hike to isolation. big thanks to the folks in front of us for laying out a great route most of the way. was a total return to winter today and the winds on the ridge and summit were as strong and cold as anything i was out in all winter. much more new snow up there than i ever would have expected. thanks to val, cynthia and mark for a great day.
