Lost and Found
Lost and Found: My husband and I both lost our hiking poles on Glen Boulder Trail just above Glen Boulder due to a thunderstorm that rolled in while we were on the fully exposed section of the trail and decided not to carry metal poles that could act as a lightening rod any further. We aren’t happy we had to do this, but we thought it was best for our safety at the time. They are Black Diamond trekking poles (one pair is red and the other is blue). If you find them and are able to carry them out for us, please contact me and we will pay for shipping to send them back to us. Thanks, fellow hikers, for your understanding! laurenegancarz(at)gmail.com

Comments
Comments: We did this as an out and back due to hearing that Rocky Branch Trail was a mud pit. Conditions on Glen Boulder Trail and Davis Path were just fine on the way out. Nothing to report. However, on the way back in the afternoon, a thunderstorm (rain, sleet, hail) rolled in and Glen Boulder Trail became a stream of running water. Rocks and roots were incredibly slippery. I’m sure it will dry out soon with some sun.

When you get to the summit of Isolation, make sure to look for the geological marker - it’s not on the first fully exposed roc area, but another one just slightly passed it through the trees with a cairn at the top!
