Comments
Comments: Pleasant but rather steep hike from the ledges to the summit. First half of trail is mostly pine needles and soil with deceiving elevation gain(about 700 feet). Although steep at the ledges the footing is good, the trail starts to open up, and the views start to appear. After the ledges there is a short section of level trail(good for decompressing your legs). From there to the summit the section is steep but again with good footing. Coming down this section is a different story. Take your time coming down. The views from the tower are outstanding(360 degrees). Hats off to the people who maintain the tower. On the way up saw some wild turkeys(the animal kind not the human kind).
