First off, we logged only 4.51 miles, don't let that fool you, this is a STEEP mountain for being calling a moderate hike. The easiest trail in our opinion is the Ski Trail which we took to come back down. The old path starts at 0.6 miles and gains serious elevation in 1.2 miles. Once we hit the New Path to go over to the south peak, it wasn't bad at all and the views were awesome. Going over to the North peak, the trail got steep again, but it's only 0.3 mile to get there. The cabin is cool, but locked. Sign at the beginning says, the rent is $40 a day, sign on the cabin says $20 a day. There are limited views of the Presidential Range and another viewpoint to the right of the outhouse. In our opinion the views on the south peak are far better than the north peak.
We did post our usual video of the hike for anyone interested in seeing it...Just click the link |
