Comments
Comments: We followed the skid road until it dead ended then began bushwhacking towards the peak. This involved slabbing through woods that were sometimes clear but more often filled with basswood, ferns, etc. We climbed moderately along the side of a first peak then dropped into a shallow col before heading up to the high point of Unknown Pond Mountain. We joined a very overgrown woods road which brought us up to more open woods after checking several bumps, we found the jar! Signed in and started back the way we had come up, making our way through the waist to shoulder high grass and pricker bushes. Unfortunately, we were so caught up in following the woods road and one of those moose highways, we didn’t realize we had headed too far to the east when we hit the col between the two peaks. We decided to continue down that side of the mountain, heading to Coon Brook Road further down...we eventually popped out at the intersection with Route 3 and walked the road the mile back to our car! Quite the adventure!
