| Water Crossing Notes: |
Water seems high for this time of year. If you’re surefooted, rock hopping is tricky, but doable. If you’re not, wade, like I did. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Very wet and messy trails due to the recent rains. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Lots of standing water, otherwise no particular issues. |
|
| Bugs: |
No bugs at the start. Black flies at the summits, and lots of mosquitoes later in the day on the way down. |

| Comments: |
The last time I hiked the Twins we did a car spot and went up Gale River Trail and back down North Twin. Today’s was up and back. They’re equally difficult—especially the haul up to South Twin from the hut. Not sure if I have a preference overall though since the final push to North Twin isn’t a cakewalk going the other way. |
