Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bypassed first crossing via short bushwhack. Second crossing (near Carrigain Notch Trail) was fully open but rockhoppable at current water level. Other crossings snowbridged or otherwise easily crossable. Some drainages lower down are opening up.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Signage seemed okay. I did not notice any blazes. Several blowdowns including: two just above first crossing (duck under, and crawl under or walk around); two along "birch mile" - one crawl under, one crawl over. One double below old cabin site, plus 2 or 3 small ones nearby. None were too difficult to negotiate.

Comments
Comments: Sawyer River Road had snowmobile track - barebootable - would have been skiable. Followed 3 or 4 day old (?) ski track on Signal Ridge Trail as far as Carrigain Notch Trail (where it diverged), then broke trail - several inches of new snow since the weekend, over old firm base. Helpful to have show-shedding clothing plus ski poles and extra time to knock snow off overhanging boughs. Barebooted Sawyer River Road in and out; snowshoed Signal Ridge Trail to and from summit.
