Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Thursday, July 4, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking at trailhead for Tower Trail. Signed from Shaker Road.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The few wet and muddy areas all had sturdy wood bridges.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Everything is very well signed, and trails are easy to follow. Krupa Loop is narrower than Tower Trail, but still easy to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw two. One was on a leash, and the other wasn't but obeyed its owner's commands quickly. Both of the owners made sure to keep their dogs under control when I was nearby - Thank You, that was much appreciated!
Bugs
Bugs: They're still out. Not horrible - I brought a bug net but did not put it on - but a fairly constant presence throughout the hike.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nada.

Comments
Comments: A short morning hike to beat the heat. Was curious to see what Tower Trail looked like without snow, since I had done it for the first time in February. Most of the trail is flat or gradual, and nothing is too rough. The tower at the summit is closed for reconstruction - there's a prominent sign at the trailhead stating this. The trail itself is in very good condition, with practically no mud - thanks, maintainers!

I took a short side trip to the Swope Slope Vista on Krupa Loop. The view there was nice, including a mountain in the background that may have been Kearsarge. It was a pleasant narrower trail that was no more or less buggy than Tower Trail.
