Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The only crossing on the route, that of Castle Brook on Castle Ravine/Link, was easily hopped on dry rocks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Caps Ridge in great shape. The two sections of the Link (the two most un-loved sections) were brushy and somewhat indistinct at times, the section between Caps and Castle particularly, but had seen recent blowdown removal. Perch Path was sometimes brushy, as was Gray Knob where it flirts with treeline.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Bothersome here and there, but the breeze kept them from being too bad.

Comments
Comments: As good a day as any to get above treeline for a time, after traveling on some of the roughest stuff the Northern Presidentials have to offer. The two un-loved sections of The Link were great, but I'm a person that loves the trails not too many people do. Dropping down into Castle Ravine only to climb right back up the other side was a bit demoralizing, but the water at the Perch made it all worth it. Only saw a few people off Caps and Gulfside.
