Plenty of room before 8 AM. Loop was still not full late in the morning, likely due to the weather forecast. |

Rock hoppable, though the Cedar Brook crossings were a little higher than normal (slightly submerged stepping stones). |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One stepover blowdown on Hancock Notch (near the steps near the brook), one on Cedar Brook (herd path going around), and a few on Hancock Loop. Major unmitigated erosion on Hancock Loop, with existing steps and waterbars collapsing, as well as entire trees getting uprooted. |

Rain held off this morning, so the resilient portions of trail were dry. The Cedar Brook Trail relo had lots of mud bogs.
Hancock Loop ascents and descents were horrible, as the unmitigated erosion is destroying what's left of this trail. Loose rock, mud, running water, uprooted trees, etc. Especially considering this is the only route to these 4Ks, this needs the immediate attention of the groups allocated resources toward trail work in the Whites.
Between the peaks, the worst of the mud bogs now have bog bridges, so it's pretty decent going, though erosion is starting to take its toll in places.
Lots of wildflowers in bloom. Summits were in the fog, but the sun broke through a few times this morning before the rain moved in around lunchtime. |
