Comments
Comments: I was a little too ambitious today, going into the hike with a bit of a chest cold, which slowed me down. I ascended Boott Spur Trail, which was well consolidated most of the way up. I used crampons for almost all of it. The only tricky section was just as you're getting to treeline. I couldn't find the path, so I ended up bushwhacking, at which point I wore snowshoes to avoid waist-deep post holing.

Boott to Washington was well consolidated. By about 2:00 I was still 30-40 minutes from the summit, so I called it and took the Crawford path to the Highland center. Crawford was generally well packed, with a few sections of bare rock. The only tough part was when I got to Eisenhower. I was feeling tired and sick, so I figured I'd go around on the Crawford path instead of summitting, but I had no luck staying on the trail, and ended up bushwhacking around Eisenhower. This ended up being slower than just going over the top.

The rest of the trail went well, though. I kept the crampons on for 99% of the day, with that minor bit of snowshoeing on Boott Spur.
