Parked at Willey House, plenty of room today despite glorious weather |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Completely manageable, the dog went nuts playing in the streams now that they are low enough |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Looks like a lot of work has recently been done. Trails are in great shape. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
A great day for the doggos. If you have a super timid dog, the ladder section of Willey Ridge could be a problem. Our dog motored up it, no issue. |

| Bugs: |
Black flies are out, but I have seen much worse |

| Comments: |
The trails have really sorted out in the past couple weeks. Some very minor, avoidable snow on Avalon (although there is still a significant amount in the woods surrounding a small part of the trail!) Minor mud, some trickles of water on the trails but things are coming around. Summer might actually be here!
We started late, crowds were low and friendly, we made a snap decision to traverse to Field and come down to Crawford Depot. A big thanks to the woman from Mass who gave us a lift back to our car! |
