We headed up the gated snowmobile trail across from the parking area. Followed this until we were pretty much due east of Thompson. Nice road all the way. Headed into the woods for our bushwhack. Some wet boggy areas until we started climbing. Got pretty steep at points but woods were pretty clear most of the way. Got to the summit ridge and almost missed the jar. In fact, we walked past it! As soon as we started back, we saw the orange tape and headed for the jar which was tucked into a pine tree at the high point! Signed in then took a heading down the other side towards the col and snowmobile trail between Pollard and Thompson. Took the snowmobile trails back to the car: very muddy for quite a ways but finally came to dry grassy, then dirt roads. |
