7th/8th june sunny and great hiking. Glen Boulder trail to elev. 4100' very nice. Going back into the forest after the alpine area was nice for about 300' then the snow in the trail was mostly using post holes, some minor monorail and making new post holes with some very deep. Snow for about elev. 4200'-4600' and with a gradual rise it seemed forever. 3-4' snow pack going down to spring. Beautiful views at Slide Peak and Davis Path intersection. Davis Path great going down to Isolation Trail but hit snow in trail again at about 4600' and at 4400' I turned back because I would need more time and another night but need to get back for Grandsons high school graduation on Sunday. Got back down past Slide Peak and camped for the night. Seems like at 73 I may be a little slower than all the under 30's that seemed to fly by but I enjoy every moment. |
