Started up the snowmobile trail which started just past this side road at a 45 degree angle to the left. Followed it through some overgrowth and muddy areas to several flagged trees. Just beyond these the trail takes a sharp right and actually becomes a hiking trail. Kept climbing easily to moderately uphill to a large uprooted tree with posted land to the right. The trail continues right along the outside edge of this property until it starts more uphill again to an ATV/snowmobile road where we took a left to follow the road. At the height of land the road became a trail once again and wound through the woods to a tree with yellow blazes, a cairn and a yellow blaze painted on the ledge beside it. No jar so we hung one on the tree right behind the cairn for future peak baggers. Signed in and made our way back the same way. Be sure to refer to your tracks/Gaia on the way back as there are a few spots where you can get confused by herd paths and snowmobile trails we failed to see on the way up! |
