Comments
Comments: Hiked up Orange Road to a large cleaning where we realized that the continuation of the Orange Road trail we wanted actually was the signed snowmobile trail we had just passed. Back we went and hiked up this pretty muddy road to a second snowmobile road marked with a yellow trail sign :To Kimball Hill. We followed this until our heading to the peak was just about perpendicular to the trail. Started our bushwhack through pretty clear woods, moderate at first but eventually REALLY steep! After crossing blue blazes indicating the boundary for Cardigan State Park land, the terrain leveled out and we headed gradually up through clear woods, then a cedar stand and an area of blowdowns that was like pick up sticks to the summit bump with its orange jar. Signed in and headed back down to the snowmobile trail managing to miss the really steep section we climbed up. Once we hit the snowmobile trail, it was smooth sailing back to Orange Road and the car.
