Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hopping across the Mad River where the XC skiing trail diverges south of the ponds. Rocks were available to cross back and forth easily without getting feet wet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Greeley Ponds trail was well maintained with no blow downs. The trail between the two ponds is marshy and quite wet with a few well placed log bridges to help, although one of them was split when I went through and could spill you into the puddle if you're not careful. Timber Camp trail could use some love. Lots of overgrowth and a few blow downs on the way up, and the top quarter of a mile is swampy from a creek running down/alongside the trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Bugs were absent until sundown on the entire circuit, and not bothersome using some picaridin once the sun set.

Comments
Comments: Greeley Ponds Trail is dry with a handful of tiny brook crossings easily stepped over and well maintained throughout. Saw a few cyclists while I was out, so keep an eye out for them. Water at the river crossing was low enough that at least two routes of stepping stones exist and allow for a dry crossing. The trail between the two ponds is narrow and hugs the southern pond for a stretch, resulting in some swampiness that a few well placed log bridges help deal with.

Timber Camp trail is dense and overgrown at the bottom, but opens after the switchback and reaches a rocky clearing offering views of Mt. Kancamagus, Scaur Peak and the Tri's. Trail continues for about 1/4 of a mile through marshy grass & mud and runs alongside a small brook that is spilling over onto the trail. There are limited views at the top clearing due to foliage. Top of the trail has some refuse around a rock pile that was maybe a firepit once upon a time.
