Comments
Comments: Couldn't have asked for better conditions - clear, blue skies, light breeze and temps hovering around freezing. Packed/loose powder below treeline and then a hard-packed/frozen-crunch snow above tree-line. Some patches of hard ice under the snow below hut. Lots of hard ice under thin snow/rime layer with lots of rock hopping/dodging up to Monroe and over to Eisenhower and back. Crawford path was melting down to the dirt/small rocks due to bright sun and warm temps. Snowshoes or bare boots would not have been fun on ascent/decent of the peaks - light traction may have worked for the most part, but been questionable in some areas. I wore snowshoes on the descent from the hut, but others wore crampons all the way down.
