Parking/Access Road Notes: ample at piper trailhead and not too busy today.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes: minor crossings a non issue. one major crossing on piper has a bridge.

Trail Maintenance Notes: some minor stepover blowdowns on nickerson and carter ledge trails. some grown in and brushy sections on those trails as well.

Bugs: mosquitoes were ambitious down low. some black flies as well, but fairly minor.

Comments: trails generally dry with notable wet sections and minor mud. most of the open ledges were dry with a few wet spots on carter ledge trail in particular, but not in any of the trickier sections. nice to run into john and pepper up at the summit of chocorua.
