| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking area is in good shape. Privies are open, also in good shape. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Trivial. However, exercise caution if you spend time enjoying the falls. Wet leaves are leaving some slime behind on the rocks. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails were in fine shape, mud season not withstanding. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
I met the nicest Irish wolfhound/Bernese mountain dog mix -- a "svelte" 150#! And there were a couple other very well behaved pups out having the time of their lives. |
|
| Bugs: |
Not nearly as bad as I thought they'd be. There were black flies, but largely, they stayed out of sight. |

| Lost and Found: |

| Comments: |
It was a fine day to be outside. Mud season is indeed in full swing, so step carefully. The view from the top was attenuated by clouds, but between the summit of Chocorua and the summit of Middle Sister, things cleared up enough to see a fair number of mountains. So if this happens to you, keep your chin up. Miracles happen.
Photos are on my blog. |
