Skied in to Zealand hut monday evening. Started at 6:30 this morning from the hut. Great sunrise on Zeacliff. Snowshoes the entire way. Did some route finding to Zeland Mtn (came in the back way, right to the summit sign which is down by your ankles!) Some more route finding up to Mt Guyout. Straight forward and easy after that. Made it to Bondcliff by 9:30am and met Dustin(He hiked in from Lincoln woods). Hiked back over Mt. Bond, including West Bond (which I saved for my last 48 in 1 winter) and back to Zealand Mt. At Zealand mtn Dustin turned around to go back out to Lincoln woods and I went back to Zealand hut, put on the skis and cruised back to my car. What a great day to be out and both of us reached our goal of 48 in one winter.
Saw lots of people, including Wolfgang, going towards the Bonds from Zealand. Trail is well packed out for sure. |
