Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings not bad, water is normal height for this time of year. Pick and choose your route well and you'll keep your feet dry.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The notch and brook trails are in good shape, a couple of blowdowns, no big deal. Trails easy to follow, including the side trail around a couple of the crossings. A few more blazes would be helpful. The loop trail is pretty easy to follow, even with the snow.

Comments
Comments: A grey, damp, windy day. Temps in the 40's to around 50. Trails were mostly wet, with some water down areas of the notch and brook trails but overall they are in good shape. Higher up, the monorails started on the brook trail, but they were stable and shallow.

On the loop trail proper starting up the North side first, there were several monorails going up, but mostly stable and navigable. Loose stone underfoot as well near the summit. The link to South was about half and half, dry/damp and monorails (mostly stable). From South down the monorails got increasingly deeper and unstable as water is running underneath undermining them. Even stepping on existing footprints was no guarantee that I would not break through, which happened several times, right up to my...well let's just say they were "cold stone" monorails. Take your time and it's OK.

Several blowdowns on the North/ south link and down from South, easily handled.

Challenging, but good hike.
