Excellent afternoon/evening hike. I wore trail runners and didn't bother breaking out the spikes. Basically the snow slows things down a little bit but otherwise isn't a big deal. A little easily avoided ice and snow starting around 3000' with some lengthier sections of monorail starting around 3500'. The monorail is narrow and tough to stay on in some sections, but it has been pretty well packed down next to the monorail as well so I actually didn't posthole very much at all.
I started driving home and just after turning on to 118 I came across a good sized moose crossing the road. Always fun to see them! |
