Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, May 22, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Room for a few vehicles at the start of the driveway for 463 Rowe Mountain Road in Bradford. Excellent views right at the trailhead!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: In mostly good shape. New signage has been installed at a few junctions recently by the Bradford Conservation Commission. A few minor blowdowns, the lowest of which was being removed as I walked out. Thanks! This trail is unblazed for the first 0.4 mi. and after that the white blazes are faded and could use refreshing. The summit spur could use some more blazing or small signs at a couple of key turns as the route is obscure in places, especially when descending.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies were ridiculous.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Up and down the eastern leg of Knights Hill Trail. From parking, walk up the driveway between the farmhouse and barn and continue straight, then bear left onto an old woods road to pick up the trail (the trailhead is unmarked).

Mostly moderate grades the whole way, with one steep 0.1 mi. section in the middle. The summit spur took a bit of care to follow, especially coming down, and needs more foot traffic. Decent view from the near-summit ledge, where is a cairn. The actual high point is a short distance before the ledge, several yards off trail. Both trails were dry.
