This trail is about as good as it gets after the winter we had. Perfect trail for the first mile. some very tolerable mud through the switchbacks. Snow for the final half/ish mile, and it is off and on. I put on micro spikes, my cousin bare booted with no issue. If you aren't paying attention you'll post hole off the monorail (which was basically in decent shape.) We smashed up some unstable bits as our public service :-) The summit has no snow, and we managed to catch some sun and 65 degree temps (better weather than we sometimes see in July- haha!) Anyway- everyone's experience can be different but on this day, all 3 of us agreed that the conditions were above average for the area (we hit multiple 4k footers this week- and this one was the best.) |
