Comments
Comments: Saw about 2 dozen people out. Most had better things to say about the Mt Kinsman trail and not so good things to say about Fishin Jimmy Trail. After reading trip reports from this weekend i would recommend this route. I only met one person who turned back after North Kinsman due to wet feet. Patchy, thin monorail about 2 1/2-2 3/4 miles in on Mt Kinsman Trail. It wasn’t too bad, 2-3’ deep, just tedious to negotiate. I didn’t wear spikes, i did bring them though. I just never thought they would be very useful. Almost steady 2-3’ monorail between the peaks. I postholed a few times trying to stay on it as it is firmer than the sides and not as deep and there is not enough bare ground yet. Best gear is waterproof boots. Maybe poles? Poles weren’t an option for me as my puppy is still leashed.
