 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossing at Crawford was easy to rock hop. Tons of little streams all the way up from snow melt, lots of wet soggy trails. There were some snow bridges coming down Edmands Path, I was very cautious checking everything with my poles first. Seemed to be pretty stable but that will change quickly. |

 | Comments: |
The weather was beautiful and all in all a challenging and amazing hike. Perfect day for it.
Barebooted Pierce for almost a mile and a half before switching to spikes. Monorail was stable but still a good amount of post holes. After the split to the hut there was an inch or two of new snow, I went straight up the peak and followed Crawford over to Eisenhower. Coming down Edmands Path was a bit treacherous. Totally unbroken, very high snow drifts that even snowshoes weren’t cutting. In all honesty I should have turned back but traversed a mile or so. It eventually evened out but I was left with no stable monorail until I reached lower elevations again and no snow. Lots of wet trails but nothing that soaked my boots. |
