Comments
Comments: as mentioned before, Hurricane Mtn is well-blazed, but the footbed doesn't seem to be heavily traveled. I picked up many branches along the way and much of the trail is soggy with spring melt. there were a few patches of snow left down low in the shady spots on the eastern end of the trail. And Carriage Rd was very very wet and soggy from the junction with HM nearly all the way to the end. the helicopter that was looking for the missing hiker flew over me twice on my way down Carriage Rd, but they either didn't see me or figured I wasn't who they were looking for. Once I got to Breezy Point I decided to bushwhack over to Bald Hill (took me an hour) thru mostly open woods. From there I made the poor decision to BW back to Glencliff which took me 3 hours. Woods are mostly open and I enjoyed all the wild flowers, but by the end I was exhausted.
