Comments
Comments: From Fletcher's Cascades I bushwhacked NE over very steep terrain, though it was mostly open woods. At around 2700ft I encountered so much snow that I was postholing up to my waist. These snowfields continued for about a half mile, making for very slow going. Beautiful moose-haunted woods in this area west of the summit. After reaching the summit and not wanting to revisit the snow, I bushwhacked down the dry southern slopes to Flat Mtn. Pond, then walking to Sandwich Notch Road (currently closed) and exiting onto Rt 49. Saw only one person the entire hike, at Flat Mtn. Pond shelter.
