 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The un-bridged crossings of Avalanche Brook (Boulder Path), Cascade Brook (Cascade Path), and Slide Brook (Norway Rapids), were all negotiated by knee deep wading, the first two downstream, and the last upstream from the trail crossings. Water fast and cold. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A bit of downed wood along these trails. A couple of stepovers and a crown on Elephant Rock, and another crown to negotiate on Greeley Ledge. Several stepovers and a crown on Cascade between Norway Rapids and Cascade West. Trails damp in a couple of spots, but not terrible. |

 | Comments: |
An after 1pm start, and some water crossings gave us these trails to ourselves. The cascades were running particularly well, and it was a very enjoyable walk up one side and down the other. Boulder, Norway Rapids, Cascade, and Big Pines all live up to their billing. Elephant Rock and Greeley Ledge not so much, but they're nice in their own right. Things are greening up out there, some wildflowers poking through, and just little remnants of snow in the woods at these lower elevations (1600'-2100'). Another afternoon well spent with Rachel. |
