 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Having read a report on Peakbagger, on a trip starting at Minge Cove, I chose that route. The launch is for members only and parking requires a pass, however peakbagger suggested that launching a small boat was okay, but parking was not. Another sign suggested that restrictions don't go into effect until May 15-Sept 15. I dropped my boat and then parked down the road in a pulloff near 11. The LRTC dock is for members only. |

I paddled out of the cove and two the SE tip of the island. Little to no boat traffic and nice weather made this a good day for this paddle. As bryan reported, the LRCT dock was easy to find. I pulled out at the dock and jumped on the blue blazed trail that leaves right from the dock. The trail goes over the SE bump and then along the ridge to the highpoint, where there is a blue X. There are several nice viewpoints. I followed the trail to its end, just northwest of the highpoint, where there's a nice view north. This was a very cool place to check out. |
