Comments
Comments: Hiked up and back alongside the Cog tracks. Conditions varied greatly from thin snow cover down low to more significant snow (and some drifts) up high. At times I wished I had snowshoes; at other times (for very short stretches) I could have used crampons. Bare-booted to just above point where trail crossed the tracks, and then spikes from there down to the Waumbek water tank. Followed RR tracks to summit, rather than take Gulfside Trail, since visibility was virtually nil. Saw very few people on the trail, although on descent it was obvious some had skinned up and skied down. This was a winter condition hike.
