Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The 3 stream crossings were easily rock-hopped this morning before the rain, but would expect that to change
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 1 blowdown approx 3/4 mi from the top
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Generally great conditions for Ella and Eva if they stayed on the monorail, which they mostly did. When off the rail they could easily sink 3 ft, which eventually encouraged them to stay on the packed trail. Stream crossings were easy for them.

Comments
Comments: Early morning start to beat the rain, and that plan worked, as the significant rain started just after we finished. Bottom half is bare ground alternating with icy monorail that is dwindling by the day. Up high the monorail is narrow though mostly stable at this point. Snow is still 3-4 ft deep. In some places snow has melted on the sides, creating an exposed tower of monorail. Other places there are deep postholes beside the packed trail. Especially tricky and tough monorail near the summit, narrower at the top.
Stream crossings were easy rock-hops, but this is before all the expected rain today and tomorrow.
Great morning outing with Ella and Eva
