The first 2 miles are slightly muddy, but easy to stay dry. The river is low enough such that you can rock hop and also stay dry. Around 2 miles in has water running down the trails, again you can walk the edges to mostly avoid it. The first set of switch backs have minor snow, recommend crampons. The upper switch backs, the monorail is soft and narrow and without snow shoes you will likely post hole. The snow in the upper switch backs is still about 4 feet deep and if you see some deep post holes that was likely from me, before I finally decided to put on my snow shoes. Plan to get wet, bring some dry clothes for the ride home.
As stated above, the access road is closed so plan to add about 1.5 miles each way.
