Comments
Comments: The very bottom of Lonesome through the campground is actually a river. The path washed out during the last storm and water is still running down it. Just beyond the official start of the trail, things got better. Snow & ice monorail all the way to the hut--spike served me just fine due to the cooler temps of the evening.

Fishin' Jimmy was a mix. Started as narrow, solid monorail, then many bare patches, then back to monorail with a bit of ice mixed in. I'd say the monorail was 90% stable and 10% you're-going-in-up-to-your-waist. This will probably change over the coming days. Snowshoes went for a ride on this one--the trail was very firm and I didn't want to deal with my ankles and knees twisting every which way around the existing holes. The crossings weren't bad at all. Steep sections in decent shape.

The rail deteriorates slightly after the junction with KRT. Still didn't need snowshoes, but if my Dions weren't devoid of a rear-cleat I might've thrown them on. Several bare patches on the climb up N. Kins and descending to the col. Trail is easy to follow and pretty consolidated right now.

Thursday is the day to get them easy. After that I imagine it'll be a bit of a slog with another 1"+ of rain coming Friday/Sat morning.
