Just one problematic crossing about 1 mile in on the Bunnell Notch trail. We couldn't find a better option so ended up wading. |

This was #48 for Duncan, Alex, & me. We finished! #37 for Molly. And Kirsty's first. Sorry to subject you to this Kirsty - I promise they're not all like this. :-(
An epic slog. 8 hours to hike less than 10 miles. Slushy, unstable, slippery, intermittent monorail starting about 1.5 miles in, then all the way to the summit. We put our snowshoes on then took them off again at least 10 times. My feet were so wet I didn't bother taking my boots off on the return water crossing.
But the camaraderie was great, and we popped a bottle of Prosecco at the summit. |
